String Art and Celebrate You Dies
String Art is all over internet, so I had to give it a try. I wanted to share the love with my monthly class. I thought it was a great opportunity to use the Celebrate you Dies, these are the Salebration dies that carried over to the new catalog. With all the colors Stampin Up offers, the variation of options is endless.
1. I placed a few drops of Flirty Flamingo reinkers on one side of paper plate, and few drops of reinkers of Mint Macroon on other side of plate.
2. Wearing gloves takes some string, I used embossing thread, dip into one side, I used my finger saturate the entire piece but then ran my finger down the piece so it wasn’t dripping wet. Leave couple n
Inches uncolored at bottom of string.a
3. You should have piec of 3 3/4 x 5 whisper white cardstock over piece of graph paper. Place string on paper in design of choice starting at top of page making swirls and such. leave uncolored string loose past the end of paper to grab a hold of.
4. I did the same thing with another piece of string to the other color of ink and then going to the paper, over lapped slightly toward bottom, but up to you.
5. Now you are going to lay another piece of 3 3/4 x 5 paper on top of the paper with the string gently, the strings should be hanging out the bottom.
6. Some people have these in a book and close the book before pulling, for me I placed my small Stampin Up stamping mat on top and applied pressure over the paper area, holding down the paper. With my other hand grab the strings and gently and slowly begin pulling the strings out of the paper.
7. When strings are completely out you have 2 Card fronts, I applied the mint macroon ribbon ( now retired) toward the bottom, secured with tape in the back.
8. This front was secured to Flirty Flamingo base that was 4 x 5 1/4, which was placed on Mint Macaroon card base 5 /12 x 8 1/2 folded @ 4 1/4.
9. I cut out die cut Amazing You and-or you could use Celebrate You with flirty Flaming. I did apply the adviesive sheets first to make it easier. Aplllied them to front of Card.
1. On one card I took a paint brush and and added some splatter to the front of the card.
