August 2018 Sweet Treat with Postcard Pals & Monthly Blog Prize Announcement

This fun set is perfect to color in any medium.  I choose the watercolor pencils because this month you can order new set of colors.  These guys are so super adorable and will brighten anyone’s day!

Im sorry but this month there won’t be a video tutorial.  I have Laryngitis and can’t talk. Trust me if I wasn’t cough day and night my husband would probably be thrilled, but he can’t find a quiet place to get away from my coughing.  The cards are really simple to put together, and these images are super cute and easy to color with any medium.

1.  Shimmery white is largest stitched circle.  Our little beaver is stamped in Stanton so we can use water with our water color pencils and the ink won’t smear. I colored him in lightly all over, execept in a couple spots that are darker for shadow.  I used a fine tip paint brush instead of the Stampin Up aqua brushes so I could have more control and not smear the colors together. I also had a paper towel handy to blot the circle with and my brush as I did not want water pooling on the paper, this was not the look I was trying to achieve.i colors do lighten and brighten with water added.

2.  Mango Melody cardbase 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 folded at 4 1/4.

3.   Gorgeous Grape 4 x 5 1/4,  position horizontally rub embossing buddy in lower right corner and stamp sentiment. Pour white embossing powder.  Dust off and heat set.  Secure this layer to card base.

4.  Garden Impressions DSP 2 x 5 1/4 is secured to middle of Card.

5.  Take the piece of 1/4 copper and spread it apart.  I put the dimentionals on the back of the circle first then placed my trim so that it stretched past each side of the circle going over a couple dimentionals, I then took some liquid glue and placed on the trim  and back of circle and layer the circle down on front of Card in the middle.

6.  Took a small piece of  grapefruit grove twine from the Nature twine set and separate it out so that I had 1 portion that could fit thru the hole in the faceted button and tied a bow on top and glue this to the right corner of my circle.

7.  I did stamp a coordinating sentiment inside the card, to finish if off.

1. Whisper White cardbase is 5 1/2 x 4 1/2 folded @ 4 1/2.

2. Pineapple Punch 4 x 5 1/4 is ran thru the scattered sequins embossing folder.  Secured to cardbase.

3. Taking a piece of Tranquil Texures DSP 3×3 soft sea foam color stamped sentiment on bottom right corner.  Secured to lower right hand side of card front.

4. Taking another piece of DSP 2 x 5 1/2, used the Triple Banner Punch on one end and Scallop Tag Punch on other end.  Tied black shimmer ribbon thru tag hole.  Secured this across Card front at an angle.

5.  Colored platypus on watercolor paper with pencils, same as beaver.   This time I trimmed him out with my paper snips, and then put him on the tag with dimentionals.

6.  I took 3 sequins from the metallic sequin pack and placed to the right of the platypus to finish off card.
